The main idea of the Postcrossing Project (founded by Paulo Magalhães) is simple: "if you send a postcard, you will receive one back from a random postcrosser from somewhere in the world". And it's really about that. You just have to register on www.postcrossing.com and get a random address from another user. Send a postcard, and don't forget to include the ID you'll get together with the address. After your card is registered, someone will get your address when requesting a random one. Wait a few days... and a little treasure from another part of the world will be waiting for you in your mailbox!
Back in 2010, Postcrossing hosted a contest: users had to make a video explaining how the project works. Let me share with you the short cute video (by oixxo) which won.
Give postcrossing a chance, but keep this in mind: it's really addictive!
